Cool stuff! Painted resist technique

Monday, November 5, 2007

I love this painted technique, it's so "artsy" on a scrapbook page. First, stamp and heat emboss the trees with clear powder. Next, paint over the embossed images with acrylic paint. I used a big foam brush and left lots of dry brush strokes so the background would show through. Lastly, wipe away the paint from your embossed images. A baby wipe is perfect for this. You can wait for the paint to dry, or wipe it away when it's wet (I used the wet method with this example).

I used the same technique on the words "summer" on this layout as well. Neat stuff!

LOVE IT! Beautiful layout and awesome technique. Wish I would have known about this technique when I taught my paint class. Guess I'll have to have a part two--LOL!

Beautiful layout, Tresa. I'm going to have to get brave and try the technique. I just can't imagine making it look as good as you do, but that's with a lot of things! I'll keep practicing!
