Country Baby

I created this collection for Papercraft's Room to Room issue, love how it turned out. The farm stamps done in blues look so much like a french Toile pattern, yet still perfect for baby. And how cute is that little washbucket?

Everyday drive...

I have been taking a class at Big Picture Scrapbooking, and one of the fun parts of the class are the daily picture assignments. Through the month, I have been taking pictures of things that I might not have thought to take pictures of before. It's really starting to sink in, how much of our real life we don't show in our scrapbooks. The everyday stuff, and the REAL stuff. Like messy living rooms, favorite snacks, and the places we go every day. This is the view that greets me everytime I leave my neighborhood. I have made this drive thousands of times, and I always love the beautiful scene that greets me, whatever the season. I was very, very, careful to have my camera ready for a quick shot as I headed onto the road, and I could have had a cleaner windshield, but I'm glad I have the picture to remind myself of my daily drive.

Before and After...

Jessica's never had a haircut, officially. It's just so beautiful, with the long ringlets and that golden color. But she hates it... the snarls, the daily battle to comb it, it's always in her way. I promised her that we'd get it cut in time for preschool, and the day finally came. I waited until the last possible moment, but it was time to let my little girl's curls go. We had 13 inches snipped off, and the hair is being donated to Locks For Love, so it's going to a good cause. Jessica loves her new 'do, and can even comb her own hair now. She's still quite a cutie. Makes me want a sassy new look too!

Goodbye to an old friend

I've been carrying this purse off and on for a few years. That furry leopard print just calls out to my wild side I guess. And it's big, open top begs to be stuffed with any assortment of items. I can shove it full of receipts, church bulletins, my camera, a nice assortment of lipsticks, it's even been known to harbor a few McDonald's toys and an extra pair of toddler socks. But all good things come to an end, and it's time to retire this old friend. For now, I'm settling for a conservative black number, that has a nice little cell phone pocket on the outside (yeah!), but it's only a matter of time before I find something that's more me, and sure to embarrass my kids.

One that didn't make it

Created this baby gift bucket for a magazine submission and it didn't make the cut. Still think it's darn cute.

Does it get any better than this?

Stamping on the deck at my mother's, over labor day weekend. The sounds of the creek rushing below, a cool breeze through the trees, and the fresh smell of country living. Oh, and my kids are laying on the floor inside, watching Sponge Bob square pants 'cuz Grandma's got cable. Gads.
