October Papercrafts artwork

Saturday, September 20, 2008

The October Papercrafts issue is so much fun! There's a lot of "masking" in this issue (get it? Halloween?), and I was asked to create the artwork for the Tips, Tools and Techniques column on page 92. I think this tag is probably my favorite. The flourish is cut out from a piece of patterned cardstock from BasicGrey's Scarlet Letter collection. I used temporary adhesive to attach the flourish to my orange cardstock and painted over it with acrylic paint. Remove the mask before the paint is completely dry. Ta da! Masked art!

Another version, this one didn't make it in, but I thought it turned out pretty cool too.
