Custom Made Papers

Wednesday, October 22, 2008

I wanted to show off this page, because first, I do sometimes scrapbook the photos that I post on my blog, and second, I'd like to show what I do when I don't have any patterned paper that suits my photos. The great thing about stamps and inks... you just make your own patterned paper!

Products are by Close to My Heart, with the exception of a few embellishments (like the Heidi Swapp ghost letter and ribbons).

To create the patterns, I stamped the circle from Spot on backgrounds in Citrus Leaf ink onto the same colored cardstock. Next, I created the blue cardstock by stamping the swirls from Western Flourishes in Ocean ink onto the same colored cardstock. I then went over the swirl stamped background by stamping the circles again in Clover Meadow ink. I didn't want to cover up all the swirls, so I used a bit of "Bad Stamping" techniques. Yes... you can stamp badly on purpose. Don't argue with me.

Who would argue w/someone as fabulously artsy as you? I loved the picture when you first posted it, and the LO is spectacular. Thanks for the tips too.
