Ahhh, glitter, that sparkly magical stuff. It adds just the right touch to so many projects. But as a die-hard crafter, I know that the old saying "everything's better with glitter" isn't entirely true. While beautiful, our sparkly friend just seems to end up in the oddest places. Ever spill glitter in your lap? There are some things that DO NOT look better with glitter.
Tell me where glitter doesn't make things better, places that glitter just doesn't improve, or stories of glitter gone wild. Post in the comments below where glitter does NOT belong.
I'm going to give away my latest card created just for my Glitter Video. Drawing will be a chosen randomly from all comments. I'll post the winner on Friday, November 20th.

of course I love a guy name Edward that sparkles, but when my own butt sparkles...well THAT'S JUST NOT RIGHT!
I would have to say the only place I really wouldn't want ANY glitter on other than my coffee would me by camera's. Although if you could put it on & have it not flake off I might be tempted. ;0)
I have to agree with Ginni - two places that glitter does NOT make it all better is IN my coffee or ON my camera lens. That being said, I think everything ELSE looks better with glitter! (Sparkle on, oh Edward!)
LOL at the sparkley butt!!
I am sitting in a small group meeting at church and people are staring...why??? cos glitter is all over my face and in my hair...and I am sitting their twinkling, totally unawares. That's what happens when you make a quick card before running out the door.
I'll take the serious side in my answer, although I've enjoyed reading the comments and can think of some pretty funny situations!
I wouldn't use glitter on a sympathy card.
It is wrong for glitter to show up at your yearly exam and have your doctor say You sure are sparkly today!!!....arrggghhh, yes it happened!
Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha! Juel!!!!
Horrible on your contact, especially prisma! lol
Juel must have been the one the story was written about. The woman whose running late for her gyn appt, grabs the washcloth off the sink does a quick swipe and out the door. The doctor comments that she went to extra measures for her appt and the woman doesn't know what he is talking about until she picks up her daughter from school, her daughter asks where the washcloth is that she was saving her glitter in. Yup yup the one mom used before her doctor's appt. Love that story. When I play with glitter i just brush it off into my hair - why not, it's in there anyway.
Glitter.......ugh......I avoid it at all costs....but every now and then I just HAVE to use it and loooove it! Where it doesn't belong....on every following project I do for the next week or two.....it's everywhere and I can't get rid of it! lol
I am a glitter lover too!!! I think it looks good on just about everything too but I have to say that I get more comments than I probably should asking me what is that red or any number of other colors, sparkling all over your face? lol It is definitely a product that gets everywhere and stays everywhere too!! lol
One Sunday I made the mistake of designing a project for 6 year olds that included the use of glitter. I thought I had it all worked out. Each child had a personal paper plate to work over.
I figured I would just collect the plates when the work was done... easy clean-up 101. I didn't count on the 6 year old teacher's pet jumping up to help collect the plates and spilling three of them on the linoleum floor, then running for a broom to clean it up. Glitter, does not look good on .... literally EVERYTHING.
Wow, some great stories! I try to avoid glitter before cooking, because no matter how hard I try, I can never get it all off of me - until then!
Hate glitter in my eye....it hurts so much
It usually ends up on my kids' faces, which might be OK if they were girls....
I LOVE Glitter! :)
Glitter, glitter everywhere,
over here and over there,
on the floor - in my hair,
on the seat of my chair,
but the one place I don't dare
is in my food I do care.
Hahaha, that just came in a flashy glittery thought, LOL. :)
I love glitter too....but it doesn't belong in hubby's beard. :)
I would say in the hands of my two year old son Logan. When all was said and done he was covered from head to toe. There is no creation on earth that gets glitter off of a child's scalp. It turns to another skin of some sort!!
Yep, I LOVE glitter but it ends up everywhere! One time I ended up getting a bit of glitter on my face as I was prepping for a club party and when the first club member arrived she thought I had pierced my nose!
Sorry, I have to disagree with everyone~GLITTER goes with everything!! LOL!!!!
I think it's already been said but I have to say it again the worst place is glitter in the eye! OUCH!
I don't mind getting glitter in my hair, but on my face when I'm at work? Not so much!
Juel-too funny!!
I must say I don't use much because it does end up everywhere!! But once in awhile a girl needs a little glitz!
I would say that glitter doesn't belong in the hands of my two year old. Or her Hair! It's tough getting it out of the scalp. haha..
I know they make it, but glitter in eyeliner is going a bit far for me. It looks good except you know it would end up in your eyes and as several people have mentioned - OUCH!
Glitter should never be anywhere near my cat Smudge. I keep my most used glitters and embossing powders in square containers so I can apply them to my creations without making too much of a mess … usually. Well, one time when I had one of the glitter containers open and on the table Smudge jumped up to see what I was doing. I guess he was intrigued by all the sparkles and started playing with it and the container ended up on the floor. Needless to say the glitter got absolutely everywhere … and to top it off Smudge thought it would be fun to roll around in it too.
Well, once a long time ago I put glitter on the pillow case of a bald friend of mine. OOps. Glitter never comes off a bald head. Sorta sad and quite hilarious!
Glitter looks great everywhere! Although if you ask my husband he'd disagree...he doesn't see the benefit when some gets on him!
My eyes are not as fond of having glitter in them as one might think. Having sparkly eyes doesn't mean that I want the glitter in my eyes. It is actually quite painful if the glitter is made of large pieces and takes a bit to get it out. Still love my glitter though!
Glitter put in the dishwasher is NOT A GOOD THING!! (as you could imagine, but it does give a new meaning to dishes so clean, they sparkle... as does the dishwasher, for weeks.
(anyone else have a preschooler??)
Now Tresa -- this is ONE video I can't wait to see. After the just add water to create flowers I can't imagine just add glitter Tresa style ..... teehee. I'll be checking daily to see where it landed. After using my glitter I polished my nails and viola a new fashion trend was born. My first CTMH gathering used the prisma that I was just fascinated with. Little did I realize the girls I taught with would bring their daughters who HAD to scrap with us. The little girls loved it, the moms laughed at the smudged cheeks and fingers, but my poor hostess, best friend wanted to KILL me. A year later she was still finding glitter in her house. Not a good thing to keep friendship bonds unless they have your sense of humor Tresa. Maureen
Glitter Glitter everywhere....getting glitter on your lips, which seems to also get on your tongue...doesn't always go down well, a drink of water nor a finger gag...gag...gag can help. :{
I don't like glitter in my food or in my eyes. I love glitter on my projects though.
I get glitter everywhere when I use it no matter how careful I am. Cleaning my craft tray - I get it in even more places. One night I thought I had everything cleaned up when my husband came home and asked why the washcloth in the kitchen was sparkling? Prisma Glitter does not wash off the washcloth. He was ready to kill the kids and I had to admit - it was my mess!
Just demonstrated glitter at my house and now every crack in my hardwood floor shimmers in the sunlight!
I love glitter... but it does not belong on my cat's paws! Luie loves to walk across my paper that I shake extra glitter onto, then he go play with our pet rat. (yes they play with each other!) Then they are both covered in glitter...not very dignified for two male pets!
At all costs out of the hands of my grandson Nico! This is a child that put liquid hand soap in his fish tank because it was dirty! His fish miraculously survived their "cleansing", but I think his fish have enough sparkle on their own and would appreciate not having that added glitz to their tank! At least he is only 3, hopefully he won't be doing this at 13.
I once at a scrap a thon sneezed into my project tray full of glitter. That was years ago and i still see glitter every now and then in my dining room.
