The beads are ceramic (big green one), shell (zebra stripe) and glass (black and gold) along with freshwater pearls. The necklace is nice and long, a great length over a crew neck shirt.

For a very dear friend, a necklace and earring set that I made just for her. I love how it turned out, so do you think she'd mind if I made myself a set too?

Even though my annual reatreat, Creative University, is five months away, the wheels are already turning. Just finishing this video makes me all excited for the big event, I can't wait!
Somebody call Ripley's Believe it or Not!

As a kid, I loved the Ripley's books. Some of the stuff was pretty hokey... a farmer finds a potato that looks like Abraham Lincoln! Gee whiz! But this is truly amazing. A duckling in mayonnaise, and it's totally true because I did it! In a hurry to make sandwiches, I scooped up a glob of mayo with a knife and kind of flung it onto the bread. This is what it looked like....

I had to call the kids. Isn't it darling? Tiny beak, little wing. We all oohed and ahhed over it. Then we ate it.

Ah, the gel card. Hair gel that is. Gotta go back and revisit some of those oldies but goodies once in a while.
Coming in October, tutorial-a-day, including how to make a gel card. That's right, 31tutorials from yours truly. Some videos, some still photos, some slideshows, a whole lotta learning. (Yes, I must be crazy, but a girl's gotta have a goal!)
Back to School

You should HEAR my house. It's quiet. Very, very quiet. I can't believe this lack of sound. You see, I've been a stay-at-home mom for (gasp!) 17 years, 7 months. Not that I'm counting. I'm still at home, but as of this week, all of my kids are in school for the day. I saw this coming when my youngest entered kindergarten, but it's still a bit of a shock. But don't weep for me. See, I'm not wandering the house with nothing to do. I love it when they get off the school bus and the house is full of chaos and noise, but these 6 hours a day are mine, all mine.
I even have time to catch up on scrapbooking. So I created these pages of last year's first day of school. You can click on the picture to make it bigger. I give up on trying to figure out how to show off a two page layout on blogger and make it look good. Drat.
But how about some nice close-ups? That will do.
These new chipboard buttons from Close to My Heart are adorable. Love the mushroom!
I love "rolling" my stamps in a secondary color for a two tone effect. Don't the leaves look great?
