Stamp WOW!

Saturday, January 30, 2010

Close to my Heart is having a contest and it's right up my alley! It's a video contest for consultants, and HELLO!.... I love making videos! The rules? Just show off how cool Close to My Heart stamps are. Golly, I've been doing that for ages!

I'm not gonna lie, would love to win this contest. Yeah, the prizes are great, but what I really want to do is show everyone how cool these stamps are by getting a zillion views. Okay, 10,000. More views means it shows up in searches, and then more people will watch, and then more and more. Like a big Fabulously Artsy snowball!

Wanna help me out? Send the video link to everyone you know, and watch the video a few times. You need to watch it a few times anyway, to catch the subtle details of my humor. I'm subtle like that. Right.

Haven't seen the original commercial for Sham Wow? What, you been livin' under a rock? Watch it HERE. Then watch this spoof, or this one, they're the best. Besides mine, of course.

Take a peek into my studio!

Well, more than a peek. A grand tour! You get to see it all, even the messy stuff (like my adhesive cupboard... eek!) I kept putting off this video and finally decided I'd never get everything perfectly organized, so what the heck, here it is!

What's Going On?

Don't be mad, I've been so busy I haven't been able to update my blog in ages! This week I'm getting back on track, including a little blog candy for my faithful readers.

Calorie free cupcakes! These are my first batch, so there is room for improvement. But aren't they cute? I used Sculpey clay (you can use Fimo brand too) and a lot of patience.

How Sad

At least my vaccum cleaner now smells pine-fresh.

How Very Hannah

Still rockin' that You Rock paper pack from Close to My Heart. Doesn't this paper remind you of a certain Disney superstar with her own teeny-bopper show and a famous mullet-wearin' dad?

Almost 18

Friday, January 1, 2010

Can't believe this beautiful girl of mine is going to be 18 next week. We've had our share of drama, as every mom of teen girls will sympathize. Maybe that's why I found it important to create this tribute to the goofy side of Melissa. Gee, I wonder where she gets it from?

The crumpled paper edge is so easy to create when you run a wet paintbrush along the edge first.

I'm really digging the Top Coats embellishments. They're flexible clear die-cuts, with rockin' printed designs. See that blue behind the stars? Well, it's a Top Coat. Perfect spot to tone down the busy background enough to make the stars (cut from the background paper)jump right out at you. Bitty sparkles add some glam. Paper pack used for this layout is the new You Rock.
