Almost 18

Friday, January 1, 2010

Can't believe this beautiful girl of mine is going to be 18 next week. We've had our share of drama, as every mom of teen girls will sympathize. Maybe that's why I found it important to create this tribute to the goofy side of Melissa. Gee, I wonder where she gets it from?

The crumpled paper edge is so easy to create when you run a wet paintbrush along the edge first.

I'm really digging the Top Coats embellishments. They're flexible clear die-cuts, with rockin' printed designs. See that blue behind the stars? Well, it's a Top Coat. Perfect spot to tone down the busy background enough to make the stars (cut from the background paper)jump right out at you. Bitty sparkles add some glam. Paper pack used for this layout is the new You Rock.

This is Fabulous!!! I love the Topcoats! I did two LO's of my Gals the other day...which for me is an achievement LOL as I am a card maker at heart.

Great pages! Love the goofy photos of your daughter, and they look great with that paper. And the topcoats do really make the stars 'pop' off the page.

Beautiful layout! Love all of the photos - and thanks for the hope that I will survive - dd just turned 13, though been practicing the attitude for a few years.

I need to pull out the topcoats and play with them.

WOW Teresa!
LOVE it!
and I can identify with WHY you chose to portray the "goofy side" .
I also have teens!
My 18 year old is enrolled in Fine Arts. There have been all sorts of challenges ... moods... clothing... attitudes...
and getting her to pose as "herself" for a picture is one of the biggest challenges!
GOOD JOB with the new papers. I NEED this kit!

How do you do it? You always make me want to buy the paper that I least liked in the catalogue!
