Time to show off the artwork! Creative University students participated in a jam-packed day of Creative Classes, led by top-notch teachers. This year all the classes were hands-on, so students were treated to an array of techniques and projects.
Bren taught jewelry making class, the students created this beautiful pendant. The base was layered with paper and embellishments, then covered with resin. The hardest part was waiting for the pendants to dry. Gorgeous!
I am so thankful to have had the chance to get to know Bren this year at CU. She is an amazingly creative soul who shares her gifts with all. She is also thoughtful, caring and truly genuine. And she gave me the monkey hat. So I really, really love her a lot.
Denise's class featured a clever use for the 9x9 accordion album from Close to My Heart. The book was cut apart to create the base for this beautiful wall hanging. Learning how to make the dimensional flowers was a highlight of the class.
I had met Denise on a few occasions before Creative University, but I had not really had the chance to get to know her. Let me tell you, this gal makes the energizer bunny look sluggish. She is hilariously funny, she talks a mile a minute, and she is a hoot to hang out with. All that and creatively talented too!
Nona provided two classes for the lucky CU students. First came a darling set of cards where students learned watercolor pencil techniques. But that wasn't all -- she also designed a companion project featuring a Rockin' 2 page layout. Double the projects, double the fun!
What can I say about my dear friend Nona? She has been a teacher for Creative University since year one, she makes my job as organizer so easy, she is multi-talented and sweet and funny.
Can you believe all this talent, just for my little retreat? I'm honored to have such a fabulous teaching team. Creative University professors, you are the heart of CU!
